If you’re planning to have a beach or seaside wedding, rustic theme is a common theme to use. But plain old rustic wedding may turn into a boring one, even if you have infinite beautiful ocean view as a backdrop. Why not using driftwoods to create a coastal chic wedding?
Driftwoods are pieces of wood, could be branches or other woods that have been washed ashore. They’re easy (and free) to find along a shoreline of beaches and rivers. Driftwood for wedding decoration is a brilliant idea because it’s not only beautiful, it is also easy to make.
Driftwood pieces can be combined with almost anything under the sun. Textiles, ropes, shells and pebbles will add naturally beautiful textures to the picture. Add flowers or greeneries for colors, and lit some candles to give a warmer tone and dimension. Such compositions look very exquisite to accentuate the table.
If you want to use driftwood for a bigger picture, you can build wedding arch, altar or photo booth with driftwood. Decorate with flowers and other elements, or if you prefer to keep it simple, you can just left as it is.
The one thing that makes driftwood so unique is that the piece has a somewhat smooth finish, as if it were polished by the rough waves and salted water. For pieces like that, you can write or carve something on them and turn them as escort cards or signage.
Each piece of driftwood is entirely unique. With crafty hands and a little bit of imagination, you could turn useless wooden pieces into extraordinary decorative items.
