Glitzy Golden Touch

The price of gold is rather expensive, but it does not mean you cannot have gold in your wedding. We are talking about gold as far as the eyes can see, from floor to ceiling and from wall to wall.

When you walk into Agus and Lia’s wedding at the Hongkong Garden Restaurant, you will think that King Midas had been there. King Midas, if you remember, is a king from the Greek mythology who was able to turn everything he touched into gold. This might sound awesome having him at your wedding, but as long as he doesn’t touch you!

Not surprisingly, the aim of the couple is to have a glamorous and expensive looking wedding, especially as it is an exclusive party where every guest is seated at a table. We begin at the entrance of the building which we made an arch of golden leaves which leads to the photo booth with golden trees in the background. The walls at the registration area and the ballroom are decorated with carved screens and more golden leaves. There are gold trees in the ballroom and gold bushes lining up the pathway to the stage.

We also used gold drapes on the ceiling. Every table had gold table cloths, but the VIP table had an additional splash of colour. Besides gold, the bride and groom requested pink and fuchsia. This colour combination works very well because they let the gold pop, but make the room softer. We mostly use pink and fuchsia flowers on the walls and on the bridal table plus glassware of this shade.

Yes, we know… lots of gold, right? We’re just glad to be able to decorate this gold themed wedding without breaking the national gold reserve.
