According to psychologists, we are attracted to certain colours because they reflect our personality because each colour has meaning. The same goes for colours at weddings. They may be picked because they are the couple’s favourite colours, but they still convey emotions, characters, and ambience, and create mood.
Amdrianto and Raya’s wedding at The Sanctus Villa in Bali has three dominating colours. The first is white. White is a pure form, representing innocence, wholeness and perfection. It is the blank canvas waiting to be written upon, opening the way for the creation of anything the mind can imagine. Using a lot of white will create a mood of peace and comfort. In their wedding, even the guests wear white.
The second is green. Green creates a calming and restful mood and it balances the emotions. The green from plants gives a sense of rebirth and hope. We used a lot of real leaves to be in line with the natural outdoors of the wedding. The bridal table is set with a canopy of hanging leaves and flowers like a cocoon that contains beautiful butterflies, which are the bride and groom.
Lastly, brown. What better way to use this colour than with the rustic theme. The brown comes from the natural wood in the furniture. Brown is a serious, down-to-earth color signifying stability, structure and support. It creates a mood of stability and comfort, making guests feel at home. The rustic light bulbs give a golden glow to the wedding.
The white, the rustic brown, and the natural green foliage against Bali’s beautiful ocean view create a sweet wedding that is peaceful, calm, and welcoming. Each colour balances out the other. It is a wedding that Mother Nature blesses.
